Who is eligible for Medicare Part D coverage?
Medicare Part D is a plan that helps pay for prescription drugs. The following individuals are eligible for Medicare Part D:
  • Those who are eligible for Medicare Part A
  • Those who are enrolled in Medicare Part B


Enrollment in Medicare Part D is optional except for the following groups who are automatically enrolled in Part D:

  • Those who receive Medicaid benefits
  • Those who live in California and receive Medi-Cal benefits
