The Initial Enrollment Questionnaire provides Medicare with information about other possible health insurance coverage that newly eligible Medicare beneficiaries may have and that may pay for services before Medicare. Newly eligible individuals will need to fill out their IEQ within a window of 90 days before your Medicare coverage starts and 180 days after the start of your Medicare coverage. The IEQ can be completed over the phone or online.
Completing the IEQ Online
To complete your IEQ online, you will receive a letter with log-in instructions to MyMedicare.gov to fill out your IEQ. Typically, you will receive this letter three months prior to the start date of your Medicare coverage.
