If I am eligible for Medicare, how do I enroll?

You may be automatically enrolled in Medicare if you are receiving Social Security or Railroad Retirement benefits. If you are automatically enrolled, you will not need to pay your premium for Medicare Part A. However, if you are not automatically enrolled, you can contact Social Security to start the enrollment process.

If you have any questions about Medicare coverage or enrollment, please contact Medicare at any time at 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227; TTY users 1-877-486-2048).
